The Indigenous Justice Circle is a Native-female-led organization that seeks to empower, connect, and support Indigenous leaders and organizations. Our mission is to advance gender justice, increase health equity, combat the MMIWG2S epidemic, and renew cultural lifeways and systems for Native Americans and Indigenous peoples.  We are committed to contributing to an overall systemic change for Indigenous communities.

New Brief!

New Brief!

Our new brief showcases some of the work that one of our partners, Native American Community Services of Erie & Niagara Counties (NACS), has done in collaboration with us and our IMAGEN Native Girl Society Curriculum. NACS used the IMAGEN framework combined with local Haudenosaunee lifeways to create the Rising Above and Achieving our Potential (RAAP) program. In collaboration with NACS, IJC led a pilot study to assess the effectiveness of Girl Societies in Buffalo, NY.

Our Resources

Our work is informed by conversations with our trusted Native Women Advisory Council and our partners working in Indigenous-led organizations to support their communities. We give back by making briefs, tools, webinars, and more available for free.

What We Do

✳︎

What We Do ✳︎

Strengthen Intergenerational Connection & Knowledge Sharing

Through our IMAGEN Native Girl Society framework, Indigenous communities can host spaces where girls learn from elders and older mentors. Girl Societies provide girls with a safe space to learn and grow while mentors develop leadership skills. Image credit: MLBO

Foster Cross-Cultural Connections & Exchanges

Our Turtle Island partners are diverse and represent various North American Indigenous nations. Our work extends past national borders, working with Indigenous girls in Guatemala and creating opportunities for mentors to meet and learn from each other. Photo credit: Na'leb'ak

Supporting Indigenous-Women-led Initiatives and Organizations

IJC partners adapt our tools and curriculum to their communities, coming back to our IMAGEN Circle to share their experiences with each other. We provide training and resources to support their work in reaching Native girls in their areas. Photo credit: IMAGEN.
